Accuracy and usefulness

Each article must answer a defined reader problem, explain practical limits, and distinguish sourced facts from editorial interpretation. We prefer clear decision criteria over product lists and avoid advice that depends on an undisclosed vehicle, climate, tool, or skill level.

Sources

Our preferred order is manufacturer documentation, official manuals, U.S. government or regulator material, industry standards, credible automotive-care references, and cross-checking across independent sources. Time-sensitive claims receive a last-verified date.

Testing language

Caritine does not describe research as hands-on testing. Phrases such as “we tested,” “our test vehicle,” and “after months of use” require documented first-hand evidence. When that evidence does not exist, the article is labeled as a guide, specification comparison, or research-based analysis.

Product coverage

Brands do not receive favorable placement for providing a sample or commercial opportunity. Numeric scores, aggregate ratings, prices, stock claims, discounts, and warranty statements are not published without a reliable method and current evidence.

Corrections

Material errors should be corrected promptly. A modified date is added when a published article changes in a way that affects the recommendation or procedure. Minor spelling and formatting changes do not require a new analysis date.

Commercial independence

Caritine is not currently enrolled in an affiliate program. If that changes, affiliate links will be labeled, placed after a clear disclosure, and prevented from changing the underlying research standard.
